The multi-billion naira high-rise headquarters of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on Victoria Island, Lagos has caught the fancy of the members of the House Committee on Safety Standards and Regulations who visited the imposing structure while on an oversight function to the agency.
The obviously impressed Chairman of the Committee, Abubakar Sulaiman, who was apparently mesmerized by the giant building, commended the management of NIMASA for upholding safety standards in the Nigerian maritime sector.
The members of the committee also lauded the agency for the state-of-the-art infrastructure at the Agency’s headquarters.
Abubakar Sulaiman however assured that his committee will collaborate with NIMASA in ensuring the Agency’s mandates, which include safety, are realized.
The committee, established to oversee health and safety, had visited NIMASA, a safety agency, as its first port of call, marking the beginning of its oversight activities.

It’s assignment includes ensuring that organizational health and safety are upheld, while also putting in place mechanisms that will guarantee an environmentally friendly and conducive working environment.
