Reps orders suspension of five duty collecting banks over N10 billion debt to Customs

He nevertheless disclosed that investigations conducted so far by the committee have revealed that five banks collectively owed the service about N10 billion.
The debts, the lawmaker stated, were duties collected by the banks and have yet to be remitted to the accounts of customs.
He stressed that an agreement has been reached with the service to ensure the implementation of the decision of the committee.

“I, however, know that the increment is backed by the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023. The increment is in the Act. That is where they brought it from” Emenike declared.
“The increment started today. NECOM will be meeting very soon to take a stance on the new development.”, the ANLCA high Chief stated.
“All the freight forwarding associations would have to come together on this matter” Oduntan thundered .
