Lagos boat mishap: NIWA trails fleeing Captain of ill-fated boat, arrests manager of boat company, Only God Ferry

The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), has launched a manhunt for the fleeing Captain of the fibre boat that had an accident on the Lagos waters on Monday, October 7th, 2024 killing 21 passengers and the loss of others.
NIWA stated that it wished to ensure accountability and set a precedent for strict adherence to waterways regulations.
The Authority said its swift action demonstrates its commitment to preventing similar incidents and ensuring the safety of waterway users.
