Hadiza Bala-Usman, suspended NPA MD, holds talks with President Buhari
Eyewitness reporter
For the first time since her suspension as the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), eight months ago, Ms Hadiza Bala Usman, was seen with President Mohammadu Buhari in public.
Their meeting was during the two-day courtesy visit of Mr President to Kaduna State from Thursday to Friday.
In a photograph released by the State House press corps, the suspended NPA Chief was seen chatting with President Buhari during his courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, HRH Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, in Zaria, Kaduna State.
She was accused of breaches contravening the government’s financial regulations regarding under-remittances by the NPA.
Mohammed Bello Koko, who was the Executive Director, Finance and Administration during the regime of Ms Usman, has since been appointed to step in her place in an acting capacity, pending the conclusion of the unending Investigations.
The panel set up by Amaechi, to investigate the alleged infractions by the suspended Managing Director of the NPA, was given no time frame within which to conclude its investigations which seem inconclusive.
