Apapa Customs made record-breaking monthly revenue haul of N55 billion in March —-seizes 28 containers of illicit goods
Giving an insight into some of the seizures, Comptroller Yusuf said tramadol, codeine, foreign parboiled rice, pharmaceutical products were among the commodities intercepted in the 28 containers.
He expressed hope that revenue generation at the command would get better after the Easter period in May.
On the recent report that the command is frustrating e-call up System of the NPA, Comptroller Malanta wondered how the command could alter an electronic system that is not in any way connected with its operations.
He believed those who were peddling the unfounded allegation were either ignorant of the operations of Customs or just being mischievous.
He said that E-Call system has come to stay but added that a new system would always have an initial teething problem which requires patience and consistence to achieve success with the system.
