News alert: EFCC arrests Willie Obiano on his way to US
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) on Thursday night has arrested the immediate-past governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the Channels TV website, Mr Obiano was arrested at about 8.30 pm.
His arrest came hours after he handed over to his successor, Professor Charles Soludo, whose swearing-in and inauguration was held earlier Thursday in Akwa, Anambra state.
Mr Obiano, who has since lost immunity to arrest and prosecution after the expiration of his tenure, has been on the watchlist of the anti-graft agency since last year November, for corruption
He was reportedly on his way out of the country to Houston, Texas in the United States of America(USA).
